SSD WORLD CUP QUALIFY

After finishing the qualifying rounds on a 11-1 record, the Senior Men have qualified for the World Cup 2023 as the #1 seed from Africa.

WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS

The Bright Stars were placed in the same group as the African Champions Tunisia for their first World Cup qualifying games - Feb, 2022 in Dakar, Senegal and went undefeated against Tunisia, Cameroon, and Rwanda.


In August 2022, the team played and lost its first game toSenegal by three points and made comeback wins by 43 and 20 points against Congo and Egypt in Monastir, Tunisia.

With only one game required to qualify, the team earned the top spot in its group in Alexandria, Egypt against Senegal, Congo and Egypt, beating Tunisia's long-standing record of 10/2 with an 11/1 and qualifying for the FIBA World Cup 2023.

WORLD CUP 2023

The competition will be hosted from 25 August-10 September 2023 in Philippines-Japan-Indonesia as 32 countries battle it out for World Champions, including the Bright Stars.
